Physiona, a med-tech platform that helps people secure the services of physiotherapists, launches today across Nigeria. With more than 200 physiotherapists on its platform, the med-tech company is offering physical therapy services at patients’ homes including treatments such as stroke rehabilitation, management of low back pain, joint pain, arthritis, and cerebral palsy. The platform offers free initial consultation with physiotherapists online as part of its services.
Demand for physical therapy is on the rise due to increasing ageing population and resulting disability and morbidity. With physiotherapists based across 14 states on its platform, Physiona offers home care service for those who have difficulty in accessing hospitals or those who have undergone surgery and can not visit the hospital. Physiona extends its services to organizations in need of medical experts to set up a proper work-fit environment for its workers and help those who need to undergo a fitness routine to get a proper fitness program. The platform also offers access to purchase of medical devices and therapeutic aids.
Commenting on the launch, Physiona Founder, Marvellous Posu said: “Physiotherapy is a crucial aspect of healthcare, but comprehensive healthcare services and knowledge of this practice are inaccessible to most Nigerians. Physiona is driven to change this by providing access to high-quality physiotherapy consultations and information for Nigerians on the go. Physiona was created to provide an inclusive online platform where Nigerians can easily obtain information on their health and consult with physiotherapists in Nigeria quickly and easily.”
Co-Founder Titus Adenuga added: “The greatest motivation of the Physiona team is to witness pain and disability-free, highly functional communities of Nigerians who have access to physiotherapy services without the barrier of location or social status.”
This has been the drive for the Physiona team and its engineers to ensure this solution is available for people throughout the states via a digital platform that is easy to use by the average Nigerian and has been widely welcomed by hundreds of physiotherapists.
