Phuthi Mahanyele-Dabengwa, the current CEO of Naspers South Africa, will be appointed as an executive director and will serve on the boards of both Naspers, which is listed on the Johannesburg Stock Exchange (JSE), and its subsidiary Prosus, which is listed in Amsterdam. Her appointment to these prestigious positions will take effect on April 1, 2025.

In addition to her new roles, Mahanyele-Dabengwa will continue to fulfill her responsibilities as the CEO of Naspers South Africa, a position she has held since July 2019. Her leadership and experience have been instrumental in guiding the company’s operations in South Africa.

Beyond her commitments at Naspers, Mahanyele-Dabengwa also serves as an independent non-executive director for Vodacom Group and Discovery Insure. Furthermore, she is actively involved in various influential organizations, including the United Nations Global Compact South Africa board and the BRICS Council.

Mahanyele-Dabengwa’s academic credentials include a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from Rutgers University in the United States and a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from De Montfort University in the United Kingdom. Her extensive educational background and professional experience make her a valuable asset to the boards of Naspers and Prosus.
