Peach Payments launches Digit Pro POS device for mid-sized and enterprise businesses

Peach Payments, a leading South African fintech company headquartered in Cape Town, has officially launched its new point-of-sale (POS) device, the Digit Pro, targeting mid-sized and enterprise-level merchants. This marks a significant expansion of the company’s product suite, which already includes robust tools for online and mobile payment processing.

Founded in 2012, Peach Payments has rapidly grown into a major player in the African payments landscape. The company has raised over US$31 million in funding and has recently begun pursuing strategic acquisitions to broaden its market reach and capabilities.

The Digit Pro is a sleek, portable payment terminal designed to support a wide range of payment methods. Unlike traditional POS systems that are typically limited to card transactions, Digit Pro offers a customizable checkout experience that integrates seamlessly with Peach Payments’ broader ecosystem. This includes support for Buy Now, Pay Later (BNPL) options, which have become increasingly popular among consumers seeking flexible payment solutions.

One of the standout features of Digit Pro is its unified transaction dashboard. All transactions—whether processed online, via mobile, or through the POS device—are consolidated and displayed in real time on the Peach Payments dashboard. This provides merchants with a comprehensive view of their sales activity, regardless of the payment method used.

Rahul Jain, CEO of Peach Payments, stated:

While legacy POS terminals offer competitive pricing, they are limited to card payments. Transactions processed via Digit Pro are displayed alongside all the merchant’s other transactions on the Peach Payments dashboard, irrespective of payment method—even across Buy Now Pay Later options. To our knowledge, the Digit Pro is the first POS device to do so in South Africa.

Jain emphasized that the launch of Digit Pro is a direct response to evolving merchant needs. “BNPL options allow consumers to spend more online with greater confidence, but have not been available on POS devices until now. Merchants are increasingly demanding more payment flexibility, better business management through integrations, and streamlined operations. We wanted a single solution for our merchants, which is why we’re launching Digit Pro.”

With this launch, Peach Payments is positioning itself as a comprehensive, omnichannel payment provider, aiming to bridge the gap between online and in-person commerce in South Africa and beyond.
