As the use of technology keeps growing in Nigeria, startups are springing up offering solution to everyday needs. One of these is delivery service. Picking up items, getting parcels across to people have become easier than ever with platforms dedicated to taking off this burden.
One of the newest startup offering delivery service is Parcel-it, a dispatch booking/scheduling app that claim to offer the smartest, fastest and most convenient way to deliver parcels, with the use of mobile phones
Launched by Gregory Asenime on June 9, 2017, the startup helps users carry out deliveries of any kind, no matter how small an item might be. From shipping of documents, to purchase from online stores, and picking up of items a user might have forgotten at home, or somewhere else, there’s always a dispatch rider, ready.
The service is currently available to users in Lagos, with plans to expand to other cities.
According to the team, “we are on a mission to provide a convenient, fluid and innovative last mile experience in meeting delivery needs using an easy to use mobile phone application and a web API.”
The online delivery service space has a number of big players like MAX and Africa Courier Express. The Parcel-it team recognizes this competition, and believes that their mobile friendliness, shortest possible waiting/delivery time, and an open marketplace for riders would give them an edge.
