Tayo Oviosu’s Paga has hit the 9 million unique user mark. This means that the mobile payment platform has served over 1 million people since it hit 8 million users 4 months ago.
Here is Paga’s journey to 9 million unique users according to them;
Growth — Since 2012, we have processed 57 million transactions worth N941 billion ( $3.6 billion) and we have reached profitability.
It took us 6 months to grow from 7 million to 8 million customers, and 4 months to get to 9 million — same amount of growth in just over half the time!
We celebrated our 9th anniversary — In April this year, we clocked 9 years of making life possible through innovation. Innovation has been key for us in creating meaningful technology that keys into our mission of making it seamless for people to send and receive money and to deliver financial services to over 70 million un-banked and underbanked Nigerians.
Awards & Recognitions — Paga was named by NIBBS as the top transacting mobile money operator of 2017 in the Global Mobile Regulatory & Monitoring Platform.
We also received another award at the Africa Fintech Summit in Washington DC for Most Innovative Fintech Company in Africa.
In June 2018, Paga was invited to join a unique alliance of over 50 Fintech investors and digital finance innovators as Founding Signatory to the New “Guidelines For Responsible Digital Financial Services”
