The TEEP2016 Application portal opened to all on the 1st of January and Parminder Vir, CEO of The Tony Elumelu Foundation, says that they have received over 25,000 applications from 52 African countries.
She also said that they have received applications outside the continent; 31 non-African countries including Afghanistan.
Though 31% of the applications received so far are from female entrepreneurs, she quips that she expects more and encourages more women to apply.
Parminder mentioned that they took a significant step to manage all activities in house and to also bring on board a new application platform for the entrepreneurs called, IDEMS. This has been a seamless platform thus far with forums where entrepreneurs can discuss.
So before the application portal closes on the 1st of March 2016 , she is calling on female entrepreneurs and entrepreneurs form North Africa to apply.
