This is incredible for a car that will not be out in another 18 months or more and people are willing to put down $1,000 deposit without so much as a test drive or a single review..
Elon Musk has tweeted on Friday that the Model 3, will sell at an average price of $42,000, including the price of options and additional features, which would give the initial flurry of orders an estimated retail value of $10.6 billion. The car’s average selling price projected by Musk is well above the $35,000 base price.
The Model 3 has been conceived to be the electric car for the masses. The base car will do will do 0-60 mph in less than 6 seconds, and range will be at least 215 miles when fully charged. The Model 3 cars will include support for Tesla’s high-speed Supercharging network, because “it’s about going where you want to go,” according to Musk.
By the end of 2017, Tesla says it will have a total of 7,200 Superchargers, double the number available today.
Hope Tesla can fulfil the orders as and when due.
