Those hours you spend in the stressful Lagos markets might be coming to an end soon, as a number of startups are bringing the markets to your homes.
Yesharvest is enabling Lagosians order for fresh fruits and vegetables from the comfort of their homes.
The platform is a fruits and vegetables subscription service that delivers assorted fresh fruits and vegetables to users’ home every weekend.
According to the team, “We believe that everyone should eat healthy. But we understand how busy your schedules can be, and how expensive, difficult and time consuming it could be sourcing assorted fresh fruits and vegetables, so we’ve taken the responsibility to deliver assorted fresh fruits and vegetables to your home every weekend.
Yesharvest was founded by Nwosu Friday with an aim to ease the tedious process of getting these commodities from the market.
How it works?
Yesharvest operates a zero inventory model, and as such, does not stock fruits and vegetables. On the web platform, users make an order by selecting their choice of fruits and vegetables based on their subscription plan. These orders are placed on or before Thursdays, and delivery made on Saturdays.
Yesharvest claims that fruits and vegetables are sourced directly from local farmers and delivered within 36 hours after harvesting. In the words of Friday, “the product is borne out my inability to find certain type of fruits whenever I need them, and even when I do find them, some are already stale and in bad shape. People love fruits but most fruits you find around are usually no longer fresh and may have lost of some their nutritional values. So were optimistic from day one that people will subscribe if we can deliver it while still fresh, and they have already proven us right.”
With a growing number of competitors, including Supermart, Konga Daily, and most recently, Jumia Fresh, the team places its edge on its zero inventory model, subscription service, partnership with local farmers, all aimed at ensuring fruits and vegetables delivered are always fresh.
