Oppo has tweeted images of new smartphone display design of what it calls “Waterfall Screen” technology. This presupposes that it could be unveiling a new smartphone soon with this feature.

The tweet says “Taking borderless smartphone innovation to new heights, we are thrilled to you a first look at “Waterfall Screen” technology.

What do you think the screen-to-body ratio is on this prototype? 😏 pic.twitter.com/99AQKh9ZgH

This is taking the concept of curved screens (associated with Samsung recent smartphones) to another level.

As cute as it may be, it does raise some usability issues. For instance, what about accidental touches and screen protection? Will the extra screen area be touch-sensitive?

Where would the power and volume buttons be located as the phone edges do not have enough room?

Well, we will just have to wait for more information from OPPO.
