Only paid subscribers will show up in your Twitter ‘For You’ feed – Elon Musk

Twitter owner, Elon Musk, has stated that as from April 15 2023, only verified accounts will be eligible to be in For You recommendations.

Twitter’s “For You” tab, is the first screen that users see when they open the social messaging app. The tweets are curated using an algorithm. That means it can surface tweets from people you don’t follow.

By this statement, this means that the “For You” tab will soon only recommend people who pay for the $84 a year, premium Twitter Blue service.

Starting April 15th, only verified accounts will be eligible to be in For You recommendations.

The is the only realistic way to address advanced AI bot swarms taking over. It is otherwise a hopeless losing battle.

Voting in polls will require verification for same reason.

He claims that this is “the only realistic way to address advanced AI bot swarms taking over. It is otherwise a hopeless losing battle.”

Elon Musk also said that only verified accounts would be able to participate in voting on Twitter too.

This is seen as another way for Elon Musk to grow revenue for the social media platform as many top advertisers have left the platform.

Last week, Musk announced that users who have had a free blue checkmark would lose that free verification starting in April unless they agree to pay a subscription fee – either $84 annually or $8 a month.
