OnePlus today has announced it will be introducing its OnePlus 8Smartphones on April 14 via online streaming.
The company says that the lineup will consist of a “full series of 5G devices,” and there will be a handset with a 120Hz display in the lineup, up from the 90Hz displays found on some of its phones last year.
The two main devices to be launched at the event are the OnePlus 8 and 8 Pro but reports also say that there might be a third cheaper addition the “OnePlus Z.”
Aside from official details revealed by the company, there have been rumours and leaks suggesting what the company plans to introduce in its range of latest smartphones.
Reports claim that the devices will finally support wireless charging after OnePlus joined the Wirelss Power Consortium earlier this year. There are also reports that the “Pro” version of the phone will also feature an IP68 dust and water resistance rating, marking the first time a OnePlus device has received an official IP rating.
As it pertains designs, the phones expectedly will ditch the pop-up selfie camera found in last year’s Pro devices in favor of hole-punch notches. Leaks have claimed that the device will be available in green, black, and a fluorescent “interstellar glow” color. Around the back, the Pro is expected to include four rear cameras, while the standard OnePlus 8 could have just three.
The launch can be viewed on OnePlus Website as well as the the company’s YouTube Channel on April 14th at 11am
