One Acre Ventures invests in Enimiro

One Acre Ventures, the newly launched investment arm of One Acre Fund, has announced a strategic investment in Enimiro Uganda, a vertically integrated agribusiness working with over 4,600 smallholder farmers. The investment, advised by IDH Invest, marks a significant step in scaling Enimiro’s operations and deepening its impact across Uganda’s agricultural sector.

Enimiro specializes in the production and export of organic vanilla, coffee, and dried fruits, operating on a model rooted in climate-smart agriculture, traceability, and fair pricing. The company has steadily expanded its vanilla operations with support from the Common Fund for Commodities, and more recently, the Rabo Foundation, which joined to help scale its vanilla and dried fruit value chains.

With the backing of One Acre Ventures, Enimiro is now poised to diversify into coffee production, a move aimed at enhancing income resilience for farmers and expanding the company’s reach in global markets.

“This is more than just an investment—it marks the start of a strategic partnership, with synergies already being explored between Enimiro and One Acre Fund, especially around farmer support, sourcing, training, and connecting to global markets. A great example of how aligned capital and collaboration can unlock real value,” said Marcel Neutel, Investment Director of the IDH Farmfit Fund.

Enimiro’s team is young, dynamic, and inclusive—the majority are under 35 and many are women—reflecting a commitment to nurturing the next generation of agricultural leaders in Uganda. Their hands-on approach to sustainable, export-oriented farming is helping to reshape the future of the sector.

This focus on local talent development and inclusive leadership mirrors One Acre Ventures’ broader goals of building resilient, farmer-centered agribusiness ecosystems across Africa.

The investment also opens the door to deeper collaboration between Enimiro and One Acre Fund, particularly in areas such as farmer training, sourcing, and market access. Both organizations are exploring ways to align their efforts to support smallholder farmers more effectively and connect them to high-value global supply chains.

As Enimiro scales its operations and diversifies its product offerings, the partnership with One Acre Ventures is expected to catalyze sustainable growth, improve farmer livelihoods, and contribute to the broader transformation of Uganda’s agricultural landscape.
