Olumide Balogun, former Google’s head of Consumer Apps for Sub-Saharan Africa, has now assumed the role of Google Director, West Africa. Remember the position was made vacant when Juliet Ehimuan resigned from the role in July 2023 after 12 years.
Olumide Balogun joined Google in 2019 from HMD Global where he was the Head of Marketing, West Africa. Before then, he was the Head of Marketing for Microsoft in West Africa and held several positions in Nokia for over five years.
As was with Juliet Ehimuan, Olumide Balogun will be responsible for overseeing the tech company’s business in West Africa.
Olumide studied Computer Science at Obafemi Awolowo and then did an MBA (Master of Business Administration) from Imperial College London, a Diploma in Sustainable Business Strategies from Harvard Business School.
