Hi Neigbours,
By neighbours , I mean fellow Lagosians and other Nigerians stuck in waterlogged banking halls and hours long traffic gridlock. The rain has been having a ball. Everyday in Lagos is a wet party. There is no telling whether a dark cloud is beneath a clear sky, the rain just pours down like an unfriendly and an uninvited guest at a family gathering.
You must think this post is about the rain but it isn’t. It is about all the struggles that comes with the rainy season or to narrow it down, the struggles of an internet dependent Nigerian during the rainy season.
I strongly feel like being Nigerian is like being caught on a lonely island and having to rely on my instincts to figure out how to make the most out of a bad situation.
I can never wrap my head around how many electricity power generating options I have to put in place in order to access close to 24hours of power supply. I literally have a government owned pre-paid meter, one petroleum powered generator, one diesel powered diesel generator and an inverter. It is like going to war with full bulletproof apparel and fully loaded assorted ammunition because when on the battle field, your survival is up to you.
OK, I exaggerated a little bit but you know it is a bit close.
So neighbours, you need to know that your internet health is as important as your electricity health. We asked our readers on Instagram what feature(s) are most important to them when they are about purchasing a new phone. Many of them said Camera quality, Design, Processor among other things.
Well, having a great functioning camera is important and there is no bargaining a fast processor when making phone purchasing decisions, however, I think having the option of a backup mobile sim can be lifesaving.
For someone that detests carrying more than one phone at once, I have come to adore the dual sim feature that the #GalaxyA10 presents me.
As a remote worker, I invest quite a bit of resources in making sure that I have a reliable internet. Despite my seeming preparedness, I had a bit of internet blackout recently spanning across three days which is equal to a million internet years. My major home ISP has been quite undependable and I have had to rely on my primary sim mobile data connection to get things done.
Would you believe that my primary sim mobile data also became unstable?
It turned out that the rain is a gift to our farmlands but a bit of a curse to bandwidth access.
In my misery,I sought solution. I learnt about a network provider that had great and affordable data services.
Local lady thought to herself, ‘why not try it?’
So, I did.
My empty #GalaxyA10 empty sim slot came handy. This may sound basic but it feels good to be connected to the world again. My soul is pleased. ?
There are many phones with dual sim options but I wrote down my reasons for using the #GalaxyA10 here. If you are particular about your selfie quality, you may consider other options in the #GalaxyAseries. There are also other great choices available in the market.
