OceanHub Africa, a leading accelerator dedicated to ocean sustainability, has opened applications for the seventh edition of its 12-month program, which will support up to 24 of Africa’s most promising for-profit impact startups focused on preserving and restoring ocean health. The cohort will be split across two intakes in March and July, with applications reviewed on a rolling basis.
The accelerator targets environmentally conscious, profit-driven ventures tackling critical challenges such as global warming, overexploitation of marine resources, and ocean pollution. By nurturing these businesses, OceanHub Africa aims to foster solutions that promote climate resilience and economic sustainability across the continent.
Joining the OceanHub Africa portfolio provides startups with access to a global ocean-impact ecosystem, including:
- Networking with leading ocean experts, mentors, and impact investors
- Guidance from self-development coaches and industry collaborators
- Hands-on support to accelerate growth and scale impact
The program follows a hybrid format, combining:
- A one-week in-person bootcamp
- Participation in the annual Ocean Innovation Africa Summit
- Remote sessions via digital collaboration tools
Selected ventures will receive:
- Up to US$75,000 in AWS credits
- Over US$40,000 in mechanical engineering design software licenses for prototyping and virtual testing, courtesy of 3DExperience Lab
- Additional perks and resources to support product development and market entry
