NVIDIA and Synopsys, Inc. have announced an expanded strategic partnership aimed at revolutionizing design and engineering across industries. The collaboration integrates NVIDIA’s AI and accelerated computing capabilities with Synopsys’ industry-leading engineering solutions, enabling R&D teams to design, simulate, and verify intelligent products faster, more accurately, and at lower costs. NVIDIA has also invested $2 billion in Synopsys common stock at a purchase price of $414.79 per share.

Engineering teams in sectors ranging from semiconductors to aerospace, automotive, and industrial applications face growing challenges, including complex workflows, rising development costs, and pressure to reduce time-to-market. The partnership aims to address these challenges by combining AI-powered computing with advanced engineering tools, creating a foundation for faster, more efficient product development.

“CUDA GPU-accelerated computing is transforming design—enabling simulations at unprecedented speed and scale, from atoms to transistors, from chips to complete systems, and creating fully functional digital twins inside the computer,” said Jensen Huang, founder and CEO of NVIDIA. “Our partnership with Synopsys harnesses the power of AI and accelerated computing to reimagine engineering, empowering innovators to invent extraordinary products that will shape the future.”

Sassine Ghazi, President and CEO of Synopsys, added: “Developing next-generation intelligent systems requires deeper integration of electronics and physics, accelerated by AI. Together, Synopsys and NVIDIA are uniquely positioned to deliver AI-powered system design solutions that empower engineers to efficiently realize their innovations.”

Key Initiatives Under the Expanded Partnership

    1. Acceleration of Synopsys Applications: Synopsys will leverage NVIDIA CUDA-X™ libraries and AI physics technologies to optimize compute-intensive applications across chip design, physical verification, molecular simulations, electromagnetic analysis, optical simulation, and more.
    2. Agentic AI for Engineering Workflows: The collaboration integrates Synopsys AgentEngineer™ technology with NVIDIA’s AI stack—including NVIDIA NIM™, NeMo™ Agent Toolkit, and Nemotron™ models—to enable autonomous design and simulation workflows.
    3. Digital Twins to Bridge Physical and Digital Worlds: The partnership will develop sophisticated digital twin solutions for industries such as semiconductors, robotics, aerospace, automotive, energy, industrial, and healthcare. These solutions will utilize NVIDIA Omniverse™, Cosmos™, and other platforms for virtual testing and validation.
    4. Cloud-Ready Solutions: Both companies plan to provide cloud access for GPU-accelerated engineering solutions, making advanced capabilities accessible to teams of all sizes.
    5. Joint Go-to-Market Initiatives: NVIDIA and Synopsys will collaborate on market adoption strategies, leveraging Synopsys’ global network of direct sellers and channel partners. The partnership will also continue to license, sell, and support NVIDIA Omniverse™ technology embedded in Synopsys simulation solutions.

The expanded partnership is not exclusive, allowing both companies to continue collaborating with the broader semiconductor and electronic design automation (EDA) ecosystem to drive innovation and shared growth.

By combining AI, accelerated computing, and advanced engineering tools, NVIDIA and Synopsys are setting a new benchmark for engineering innovation—enabling companies to create intelligent, complex products more efficiently than ever before.
