NucleusIS, a Nigerian e-health startup founded in 2019, has officially rebranded as RIGO Incorporated, signaling a bold new chapter in its mission to transform Africa’s healthcare economy through technology and financial infrastructure. The rebrand comes with an expanded product suite and a sharpened focus on building the digital backbone for healthcare providers, insurers, and suppliers across the continent.
Originally launched to provide enterprise software for health insurance companies and care providers, NucleusIS had already onboarded seven clients and built a strong foundation in healthcare operations and insurance distribution. The company’s technology has enabled the distribution of health insurance through APIs, retail networks, and telecom partnerships, helping to bridge access gaps in Nigeria’s fragmented healthcare system.
RIGO’s evolution reflects a broader ambition: to become the infrastructure layer for healthcare in Africa. The company now operates through two integrated platforms:
- RIGO Tech – A vertical SaaS platform offering tools for operations, claims processing, patient management, and system integrations.
- RIGO Finance – An embedded finance solution that provides working capital, payment automation, and financial services tailored to healthcare businesses.
Together, these platforms serve thousands of hospitals, clinics, pharmacies, HMOs, and suppliers across Nigeria, offering a seamless blend of technology and financial services designed to help healthcare businesses run more efficiently and grow sustainably.
“We’re no longer just a lender, we’re an enabler,” said Kayode Odeyinde, RIGO’s founder and CEO. “RIGO is infrastructure for healthcare—finance, operations, integrations, all from one connected platform.”
The rebrand also marks a shift toward platformisation, where RIGO is positioning itself as a one-stop ecosystem for healthcare stakeholders. This approach is especially critical in Nigeria, where the healthcare sector is highly fragmented, underfunded, and in need of scalable digital solutions.
RIGO’s journey includes participation in the Africa Startup Initiative Programme (ASIP), run by Startupbootcamp AfriTech in partnership with Telecel Group in 2021. This experience helped shape its strategic direction and deepen its understanding of the healthcare challenges across the continent.
With its new identity and integrated platform, RIGO is poised to play a central role in digitizing healthcare delivery, financing, and administration—starting in Nigeria and expanding across Africa.
