Startups are encouraged to apply for the Africa Carbon Removal Accelerator (ACRA), an initiative designed to equip participants with in-depth knowledge of carbon dioxide removal (CDR) and to support them on their entrepreneurial journey within this vital sector.
The ACRA program is a collaborative effort between Strathmore University and the Nuvoni Centre for Innovation Research, and it is spearheaded by experts specializing in CDR. The program aims to create valuable connections with technology and policy stakeholders, leading CDR buyers, verification organizations, and fundraising professionals from around the globe, all while maintaining a focus on the unique context of Sub-Saharan Africa .
Participants in the ACRA program will gain access to a vibrant and internationally connected CDR community, which will facilitate networking, knowledge sharing, and collaboration with key stakeholders within a supportive and diverse CDR ecosystem.
Moreover, they will benefit from the latest research and developments in CDR technologies that hold significant sustainable development potential for Sub-Saharan Africa. The program will also provide insights into local factors that are essential for fostering a robust domestic CDR ecosystem.
Applications for the ACRA program are currently open and will remain so until February 24. The program is scheduled to run from April to December, offering a comprehensive experience for startups eager to make an impact in the field of carbon removal.
