Twitter’s annual ‘Best of Tweets’ competition, which recognises the best brand tweets from the previous year, is now open to anybody who has conducted any successful Twitter campaigns this year.
Twitter’s Best Of Tweet is the company’s crowning achievement for the brands that have creatively used the Social media site (this year) to create something new or to engage with what is happening as no one else could. “Does your brand deserve to be crowned a winner?” Twitters says, “we want to hear from you”.
Last year’s event recognised campaigns from Gatorade, Uber, Ben & Jerry’s, and others for their outstanding use of the platform.
You won’t receive a physical reward, but you will be recognised and promoted as part of the event even if you don’t win.
For nomination, you must summarise your campaign in a few sentences and explain why it deserves to be named one of the best in the field. Even though it may sound difficult, looking at the awards from the previous year will give you a good indication of what the Twitter award judges are looking for in terms of impact, reach, and other factors.
Since 2016, Twitter has held its yearly campaign awards, separating each element into a different category.
Although the disruption caused by 2020 did prompt a change in methodology, it’s still not obvious how Twitter will select the winners this time around. That could offer you a better sense of the types of campaigns that Twitter is aiming to spotlight.
In any case, if your campaign fits the criteria, it’s worth submitting, even if it’s just to have your website annotated with the words ‘Winner – Best Twitter Campaigns 2020.”
Nominations for brands’ campaigns must be submitted by October 12th in order to be considered (so best to get moving).
