Nokia could unveil new Android smartphones next year during the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, Spain. Well, this is actually according to a recent leak, which shows that one of the smartphone could be a flagship model with some amazing hardware specifications.
The upcoming flagships is said to come with 5.2 and 5.5-inch screens, powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 820 processor, according to information leaked on Weibo. But not much is known because the leak does specify if the display will have a QHD (2,560 x 1,440) screen resolution.
This leaves us to wonder why Nokia would want to stick with the Snapdragon 820 which has been the standard for flagship smartphones for the most part of 2016, and has already been succeeded by the Snapdragon 821. Well, according to another source, that could probably be because of costs, but it’s also possible that the leaked information could be wrong.
On the software side of things, Nokia’s 2017 flagship is presumed to come with Android 7.0 Nougat. The Nokia flagship Android smartphone could also have a waterproof metallic build similar, thanks to previous leaks. As for other features, the new smartphone is said to come with a high-end Carl Zeiss lens for its camera. However, the leaker didn’t provide information on how many megapixels the camera will be packing.
We’ll have to wait for Nokia’s official announcement during Feb 17 at the MWC 2017, which ends on March 2. Until then, it’s important to take these leaks with some skepticism.
