The National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA) and the Petroleum Equalisation Fund (Management) Board has inaugurated a 16 man joint Committee to foster ICT Innovation and Entrepreneurship for Interns of PEF.
PEF hosted the brief ceremony which took place at its Corporate Head Office.
As part of the partnership NITDA will serve as the Chair of the Committee and will subsequently provide a Policy Framework aimed at driving the programme.
During the ceremony the Director General of NITDA, Dr Isa Ali Ibrahim Pantami while speaking lamented the high rate of unemployment and underemployment in the country which amounts to 43% of the whole population, and also called on more collaboration between Government Agencies to promote IT Innovation and Enterpreneurship
While speaking on the partnership ,Pantami said collaboration is key, “Individually we are one drop of water, together we can become an Ocean”, adding that alone we can do little, together we can do more.
It is worth noting that has part of efforts to boost the IT sector in Nigeria, NITDA recently signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Microsoft Nigeria, to strengthen ICT Innovation and adoption in the country.
