The current marathon record is 2:02:57. However Nike has assembled a team to break the 2 – hour marathon barrier. It has assembled three men to try this – Eliud Kipchoge from Kenya, Lelisa Desisa from Ethiopia and Zersenay Tadese from Eritrea..
So on Saturday, May 6 at 5:45 a.m. in Monza, Italy, these great men will attempt to break the barrier. It is the 2.4km loop at the Autodromo Nazionale Monzacomplex outside Monza, Italy.
The current marathon world record for men is 2:02:57, set by Dennis Kimetto of Kenya on September 28, 2014 at the Berlin Marathon.

The event is closed to the public. However, anyone with Internet access can experience the excitement by tuning into Nike’s live stream of the attempt.

1) Nike’s Breaking2 landing page on Twitter: You don’t need a Twitter handle or login to watch from here. Because Nike will be live tweeting the event from this handle, this will be the most informative and robust viewing experience.
