In the Nigerian context, this year’s results indicate a heightened interest in entertainment, with Mohbad and Hilda Baci ranking among the top three most searched Nigerian news.

Asake, a Nigerian singer, claimed the top position in the category of most searched musicians, with his track ‘Lonely at the Top’ securing the number one spot on the trending songs list.

The late Afrobeats sensation Mohbad, whose passing sparked controversy, emerged as one of the top searches on Google Nigeria. Actress Moyo Lawal, followed by Peter Obi and Oladips, secured the top position as the most searched person of the year.

Noteworthy questions such as ‘What is fuel subsidy?’ and ‘What is autopsy?’ dominated the searches, reflecting a keen interest in various topics.

High-profile deaths, particularly that of Mohbad, topped the list of most searched losses, followed by Murphy Afolabi, Saint Obi, Christian Atsu, and South African rapper AKA.

The comprehensive list covers various categories, including actors, athletes, lyrics, movies, video series, mobile devices, songs, and inquiries about specific terms.
