Nigerian online hotel booking platform, Nitestay.com, has announced it is opening up to hotels in other African countries – Ghana, Gambia, Kenya and South African. Speaking to Innovation Village, Femi Okanla, co-founder and CEO of Nitestay.com said the expansion into other countries is part of the startup’s projected business framework.
“I must [also] mention the demand and request from customers for bookings outside Nigeria accelerated the push for the expansion. Our business is guided by our framework which we constantly review to suit the demand of our customers,” he told Innovation Village.
While noting that the startup maintains a cordial business relationship with the hotels on the platform, he said they were able to close the deals with hotels outside Nigeria, majorly stemming from their experience within Nigeria.
“As a Nigerian company and with most of our experience within the Nigerian market it is easier negotiating and sign up Hotels within Nigeria compared to foreign hotels. It is interesting to note that the reception with other African hotels has been of high interest [to them] having their hotel available to the Nigerian traveler,” Okanla said.
To see the available hotels in the listed African countries, say Ghana, a traveler would visit Nitestay.com and enter the city (not country) in the search box to see the available hotel options. The platform also allows users to select the payment of choice. Also, it allows users to book online and pay at check-in especially for the online transaction skeptics.

Nitestay.com has taken a bold step towards expanding their business empire into other African countries, based on their customers’ demand. This expansion, of course, would require huge capital. But with it also come huge profit. Besides, doing business with an establishment one is already familiar with gives one confidence and rest of mind. No need to be afraid of where you lodge when you travel outside the country. It’ll be another home away from home. What a brilliant idea.
