Shipbubble, a Nigerian startup founded in 2022, is swiftly transforming the e-commerce landscape by connecting businesses with a vast network of delivery partners. The platform is designed to empower e-commerce ventures of varying scales, streamlining their delivery processes and driving significant growth in a short span.
The startup’s platform automates the entire delivery chain, from order tracking to the final mile, ensuring that goods are delivered accurately and punctually. This automation enables e-commerce businesses to optimize their shipping operations, cut costs, and elevate customer satisfaction.
Co-founder and CEO Jordan Ajibola, in an interview, explained Shipbubble’s mission:
We are crafting a robust, customized network of delivery providers to cater to the distinct demands of African retailers. Our aim is to standardize and simplify the logistics process, allowing businesses to deliver smooth and dependable services while preserving outstanding value across various product categories.
Shipbubble goes beyond mere automation; it also offers standardized communication tools that help businesses manage customer expectations effectively, building trust and enhancing satisfaction. The platform’s integration with multiple sales channels, including Bumpa, Shopify, and WooCommerce, creates a seamless omnichannel experience that consolidates business operations.
Ajibola’s inspiration for Shipbubble stemmed from his tenure at Amazon Logistics, where he was deeply influenced by the role of technology in revolutionizing logistics. The efficiency and coordination of Amazon’s delivery systems left an indelible mark on him, sowing the seeds for what would later become Shipbubble.
Upon his return to Nigeria, Ajibola, alongside co-founder Ayodeji Abon, was determined to address the inefficiencies in the African logistics sector by creating a tech-driven system akin to Amazon’s. However, Shipbubble’s model is distinct; it functions as an aggregator rather than a logistics provider, connecting businesses with a plethora of delivery partners to manage their logistics with finesse.
The response to Shipbubble has been overwhelmingly positive. Ajibola proudly shared,
We’ve rapidly grown to support over 6,000 users from various industries, including beauty, health, skincare, and fashion. Our growth is evident; we doubled our shipment numbers in the first quarter of 2024 compared to the entire previous year. We’re also collaborating with some marketplaces, which cements our role in the e-commerce space.
Backed by funding from StartupWise Guys and Microtraction, Shipbubble is eyeing expansion into other African markets, with promising prospects already in the pipeline.
Shipbubble’s revenue model is anchored in subscription plans for businesses utilizing its platform for logistics management. These plans grant access to aggregation services and features designed to boost logistics efficiency. The company also leverages negotiated rates with logistics firms, enabling cost savings for users while sustaining profitability.
With its innovative approach and strategic expansion plans, Shipbubble is set to redefine e-commerce logistics across Africa, offering a tech-driven solution that mirrors the sophistication of global logistics giants.
