Nigerian startup IyeOgé prepares to debut AI‑powered luxury fashion marketplace

Nigerian startup IyeOgé is preparing to debut what it describes as Africa’s first AI‑powered luxury fashion platform, designed to connect global consumers with top-tier African designers while merging technology, storytelling, and high-end fashion into one cohesive digital experience. Founded in 2025 by Iziegbe Okungbowa, IyeOgé was created to fill what she sees as a significant gap in the global fashion landscape.

Africa is home to extraordinary design talent, yet there is no global digital platform that presents their work at true luxury standards. Our team brings together fashion curation, artificial intelligence, and logistics to make that vision possible.

According to her, early interest in the platform has been “incredible,” driven largely by the African diaspora and international buyers seeking authentic African luxury pieces. While the company remains privately funded, the demand signals have been strong even before the official launch.

For now, IyeOgé is concentrating on Nigeria and select international markets, with strategic plans to expand across Africa and into major global luxury hubs within the next 12 to 18 months. The company generates revenue through designer commissions, premium placement listings, and curated brand partnerships, positioning itself at the intersection of luxury retail and tech‑enabled marketplace dynamics.

    Okungbowa said:

Even at pre‑launch stage, our projections show strong commercial potential once we go fully live.

She explained that the team’s biggest challenges lie in ensuring that every aspect of the platform meets luxury‑grade standards, from discovery to checkout, logistics workflows, and the AI-driven personalization features that differentiate IyeOgé from traditional marketplaces. Additionally, the company must balance vendor onboarding, inventory accuracy, and high-quality digital content, all while building the automation, operational workflows, and investor-ready polish expected of a premium global tech brand.
