Fez Delivery, a startup from Nigeria that focuses on logistics, has introduced Fez Safe Lockers, a system of automated lockers aiming to transform Nigeria’s last-mile delivery landscape. Fez Delivery, established in 2018, has developed a last-mile delivery platform connecting businesses with markets.
The startup secured seed funding last year and launched a fleet of e-bikes, and has now introduced a network of automated lockers which provide a secure, convenient, and cost-effective method for receiving and sending packages, benefiting both businesses and individuals.
Cash-on-delivery remains the predominant method in Nigeria, with stolen or lost packages being a significant issue. Fez Safe Lockers provides an alternative by securing packages for online shoppers, eliminating the need for cash-on-delivery and reducing theft risk.
The lockers are strategically situated in areas of high foot traffic, such as petrol stations, and offer easy pickup options. Simplified drop-off and collection of packages are enabled via user-friendly touchscreens and unique access codes. Additional security measures include real-time package monitoring, CCTV, and secure locations to protect against theft or loss.
Fez Delivery’s CEO and co-founder, Seun Alley, says that the firm is aiming to transform logistics and promote sustainability, thus aiding in improving Nigeria’s future. He adds that the company’s lockers are an investment in the country’s future, stating, “At Fez, we’re not just delivering packages, we’re delivering a revolution. Fez Safe Lockers are unlocking…”
