OjaExpress, a Nigerian-backed startup, has been accepted in the prestigious Techstars Kansas City Accelerator class of 2020.
Founded by Nigerians Boyede Sobitan and Fola Dada based in America, OjaExpress is a digital platform that allows users to shop online from the comfort of their homes for ethnic, cultural and religious ingredients. It works with independent grocers, such as mom-and-pop shops,
who carry these hard-to-find ingredients.
The Techstars Kansas City 2020 class includes ten companies that are enabling the broad desire for greater transparency and access in healthcare, food supply, and justice for all. Techstars will support these founders focusing on building a strong foundation that will allow accelerated growth
The founders and team will be participating with Techstars Kansas City, under the leadership of Managing Director Lesa Mitchell. During the accelerator, OjaExpress will gain access to mentors and strategic relationships.
“We are excited about being selected as a Techstars Kansas City company. We feel aligned with the Kansas City leadership team, and we look forward to what we will achieve,” says Boyede Sobitan, the CEO/Co-Founder
of OjaExpress. “The global Techstars network is so powerful and robust and we are grateful for the opportunity to be a part of it and learn from our peers and those who went through the program before us.”
“There are so many immigrants in the US that are underserved, and many of the stores that service their needs don’t have the technology and capabilities to provide the same level of services as larger chains- we hope to fill this gap and alleviate the pain point for both with our solution,” says Fola Dada, the CTO/Co-Founder of OjaExpress
Techstars is the worldwide network that helps entrepreneurs succeed. Techstars founders and their teams connect with other entrepreneurs, experts, mentors, alumni, investors, community leaders, and corporate

“Being a part of TechStars will help OjaExpress serve our customers better, and get us one step closer to our vision of becoming the United Nations of Groceries at Your fingertips,” says Dad
