    Nigerian Armed Forces’ Defence Radio 107.7FM begins transmission in Abuja

    Nigerian Armed Forces radio, which is the first of its kind in West Africa, has begun transmission in the federal capital city of Abuja.

    The station is located on the hills of the Mogadishu Cantonment in Abuja, and was launched with the aim of enhancing the management and dissemination of defence information to the Nigerian public by promoting civil-military relationship in the country.

    The station has ultra-modern digital facilities including seven digital studios, an outside broadcasting (OB) van, a transmitter that has the capacity to transmit message up to 500 kilometers radius and a website facility that will stream live to global audience, the station will be managed and operated by a team of trained military personnel and a few civilians.
