Nigeria Digital Publishing Startup, Publiseer Announces Expansion into Ghana

Digital publishing platform, Publiseer has announced that it is expanding its services into the West African country, Ghana. Its decision to expand into other markets is not a surprise. When the startup submitted its entry for MIT’s Solve Challenge last month, it indicated that an Africa wide expansion was in the cards. And according to its submission, the company plans to expand into more African countries over the next 12 months. Ghana happens to be its first international choice.

Now, the choice of Ghana may not be so unexpected. The country is very much similar to Nigeria. And indeed they both share a similar musical taste. Like Nigeria, Ghana is also in need of better copyrights deals for its creatives. But unlike Nigeria, Ghana’s book publishing market appears more mature to embrace the digital option.

“Ghana has an amazing music industry that spreads across Africa and even the world,” said Chidi Nwaogu, Co-founder of Publiseer.

Publiseer’s expansion into Ghana is the company’s latest feat. Over the last couple of months, the startup has scored several accolades and achievements. A few months ago, the startup recorded its first profit, despite being in business for less than a year. It made $10,000 within 10 months of being in business. Not bad for a startup with no external funding.
