New ultra bottles have being unveiled by the Nigerian Bottling Company to take care of the South – South market. Wholesalers, dealers and distributors at the unveiling ceremony were addressed by the Regional Commercial Director of NBC, Tunji Akinseesin who disclosed that the new glass bottles, also known as ultra-bottles were “about 20 per cent lighter and 40 per cent more durable, which made them safer and easier in terms of handling and their contents much more protected.”

He explained that it comes with the same liquid content and price for the sales and marketing of Coca Cola, Fanta and Sprite, all products of Coca Cola Nigeria Limited.

Akinseesin noted that although the ultra-bottles were introduced internationally in 2000 and first unveiled in Nigeria in June 2011, Edo was the first location in the eastern part of the country to have the innovation.

He also said that the new package for all the coca-cola products would not replace the old glass bottles in the market.

The NBC was urged by a representative of the National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control, in Benin, David West  to continuously ensure that the beverage products were produced under hygienic conditions, in line with stipulated guidelines.

The Nigerian Bottling Company focused strongly on supplying quality products to customer, to deliver superior financial results to shareholders and to provide employees with a safe, healthy and inclusive workplace.
The first ultra glass bottles were launched to replace the company’s returnable bottles. The new bottles are lightweight and easier to handle.
