    Nigeria Alternative Energy Expo holds this week in Abuja

    Organisers of the Nigeria Alternative Energy Expo have announced the fifth edition of the event will be taking place from 14 –16 October in Abuja. In a statement made available to Innovation Village, they said those that register for the expo can win a solar home system worth $500.

    Now entering its 6th year, NAEE will provide an opportunity for all role players to address Nigeria’s electricity challenges and increase economic performance, through knowledge sharing, building collaborative partnerships and understanding products that will shape the power sector in Nigeria.

    This year’s Expo introduces the G2020, an NAEE initiative supported by the Government, Businesses, and financiers responding to an urgent need for 170 million Nigerians to embrace energy Efficiency as a national culture, and joining the global journey towards a sustainable future.

    Another important aspect this year is The Nigeria Energy Awards that will honour leading companies, individual and government that has contributed to green our country with renewable smart energy.

    There will also be private meeting rooms for over 50 closed door meetings between investors and stakeholders. Sponsored by Pax SA to showcasing creative exciting and scalable renewable technology destined to impact Nigeria’s access to alternative energy solutions

    An important aspect this year are solar Empowered Schools (SES) that will donate Solar Lamps to students in rural areas with no electricity to enable then extend their study hours in the night.

    This year also sees the launch of the ‘Solar Empowered Schools,’
