YouTube has added its pre-publish checks feature to its mobile app, making it easier for anyone uploading content on the go to confirm that it is entirely eligible for monetisation before they post.
In the above screenshot (on PC) you can see how YouTube’s pre-post-publication Checks tool checks the content of your upload before you publish it, including copyright concerns and ad suitability.
With this new update, creators can manage expectations and be more aware of concerns like copyright strikes and similar issues, both of which can lower your channel’s earning potential and lead to sanctions.
In the video above, YouTube explained that “Copyright claims will only run once the video has been uploaded and processed on the YouTube main app, and monetization checks will only run once the video has been enabled for monetization on the Studio mobile app.”
As a result, checks on mobile devices may take a little longer — albeit YouTube has implemented a new notification method to assist in this process.
To get pre-publish checks, you have to be a member of the YouTube Partner Program. Notably, Shorts are short, therefore, pre-publish check isn’t available for them.
Pre-publish checks is a helpful feature, and the warnings in the web app have proven to be really useful to content creators. And now they’ll be able to access the same information from their mobile devices, which will help to streamline the creation and upload processes.
The new feature will be made available to mobile users “over the next couple of weeks”.
