Business Owners on Twitter should be happy about this! Twitter has announced that businesses can now display location of their business or shop, contact info and operational hours on their profiles.
“You can now enable our Location Spotlight on your Professional Account which allows you to display your business location, hours, and additional contact methods,” the company says.
When users visit a company’s profile on Twitter, they will see the updated information. Once they tap on the location, they can get directions to the physical store, and this is almost similar to the way Google Map works.
Though Twitter says only businesses based in the US, UK, Canada, and Australia can see the new feature on their profile, you should expect it to come to you in the coming months.
Location Spotlight is similar to Google Maps’ “Info Cards” which also displays information about a company’s locations and hours of operation.
• Business location: Listed and shown on a small map in the profile spotlight. People can tap on the location map/listing to open Google Maps, or their default map app, for easier navigation to the business’ space.
• Hours of operation: This field is optional but can be customised to showcase the days and times businesses want people to visit their location.
• Methods of contact information: When the contact button in the spotlight is enabled, it can kick off one or more of the following directly to the business:
• Phone call
• Text message
• Twitter Direct Message
With this new location feature, Twitter hopes to assist businesses in establishing a more professional image. As you can see, the more individuals who regard you as competent and trustworthy, the more leads you get.
Twitter’s goal for the new feature is obvious. The company wish to help brands establish themselves more effectively.
