Sony has unveiled some new products at the current CES 2015 currently taking place in Las Vegas, USA.
Here are some of the products:
1. Sony HandyCam FDR-AX33
The new Sony Handycam FDR-AX33 is the most compact 4K Handycam camcorder to date. It features impressive Balanced Optical SteadyShow (B.O.SS) image stabilization which ensures that 4K video output is smooth, stable and blur-free at focal lengths ranging from wide-angle to extended telescopic zoom.
The device is available in February for about $999
2. Sony Action Cam FDR-X1000V
The new camera, model FDR-X1000V, applies the company’s vast expertise in 4K video production to a compact, splash-proof POV camera design, allowing adventurers to capture stunning 4K content (3840×2160@30p 100Mbps1/60Mpbs) with ease, which can be played back on a compatible 4K TV directly from the camera through HDMI. It also features enhanced HD video performance with upgraded stabilization, image quality and high-frame rate shooting.
The FDR-X1000V features a ZEISS Tessar® lens with an ultra-wide angle 170 degree2 field of view, a back-illuminated Exmor R™ CMOS sensor and an acclaimed BIONZ X™ processor, ensuring that video quality remains consistently strong across all shooting environments.
The X1000V is equipped with built-in GPS, allowing users to utilize the provided Action Cam Movie Creator software to produce custom videos with GPS Data Overlay.
This gadget will be available for $500 in February 2015.
3. Sony 4k Projector
The new full 4K VPL-VW350ES projector, broadening its home theater projector line-up. The VPL-VW350ES is Sony’s latest product to deliver a true 4K experience, offering four times the resolution of Full HD with a 4K native resolution (4,096 x 2,160).
The VPL-VW350ES will be available starting January 2015 for under $10,000 at Sony stores and other authorized dealers nationwide. Check out the press release for more information about the Projector.
4. Sony Walkman NW-ZX2
The Sony Walkman NW-ZX2 has a high-res audio playback; reduces distortion and noise while reproducing wide frequency response for a clearer acoustic experience. The NW- ZX2 supports digital music files up to 192 kHz/24 bit and compatible file formats are MP3, WMA, AAC, FLAC, AIFF, WAV and ALAC including DSD. It also comes with 128GB of built-in memory, as well as micro SD card slot, Wi-Fi and a large capacity Lithium-ion battery that provides up to 60-hours of music playback per charge. The Android-powered device (it runs Android 4.2, Jelly Bean) features a touchscreen, and supports Android apps via the Play Store.
The Walkman NW-ZX2 will be available in spring 2015 for over $1,119.99.
5. SmartWatch 3 – Stainless Steel Edition
Sony’s latest generation “smartwatch”, powered by Android Wear, now in sleek stainless steel. SmartWatch 3 knows who you are, what you like and where you are, feeding you relevant info and tips on the go, with latest Google apps and services. It has connected and standalone functionality, with powerful sensors; Accelerometer, Compass, Gyro – and it is the only Android Wear SmartWatch with in-built GPS. Going for a run? Load tracks from Sony’s WALKMAN app, connect with a Bluetooth headset and enjoy your music smartphone free – and track that workout with GPS and Sony’s Lifelog app.
This device will be available from February 2015 in select markets – for $299.99
6. SmartEyeglass Attach and Smart B-Trainer
The SmartEyeglass Attach, a high-resolution eyewear module leverages Sony’s unique OLED technology and can be integrated into the eyewear products of cooperating third parties, enhancing users’ experiences by providing them with essential information through a high-resolution color display. The module is perfectly suited for both indoor and outdoor use, and it joins the SmartEyeglass transparent lens eyewear.
Designed for runners, the B-Trainer protoype is a waterproof headset that’s decked out with fitness sensors and can play music via its onboard storage. The Smart B-Trainer encourages a sustainable running routine, facilitating progress by automatically selecting songs with tempos to match the user’s heart rate and offering audio guidance for a variety of training programs.
No further details are available on the release dates of these devices.
7. Sony 4k TVs
A total of 11 new 4K BRAVIA LCD TVs across three series, boasting even more breathtaking picture quality than before with Sony’s own, innovative 4K Processor X1. This new line of BRAVIA sets includes the world’s thinnest series of TVs (approximately 4.9 mm at their thinnest point) as well as the world’s first series with Hi-Res compatible speakers. The new line also features – for the first time – YouTubeTM’s newly developed VP9 format. With this addition, customers can enjoy viewing user-generated 4K content, such as videos shot with a 4K Action Cam and uploaded to YouTube, on their new BRAVIA TV sets.
This new line of TVs will be available this spring.
