Dimension Data in Ghana is set to undergo a change in ownership and name, following a management buyout led by Yvette Adounvo Atekpe, the firm’s CEO for the past 16 years. Previously wholly owned by Japan’s NTT Group, the IT infrastructure and services company operates in the Middle East and Africa under the Dimension Data brand.
According to a recent statement, Dimension Data in Ghana has been acquired by locally registered Dynamic Data Solutions Ltd, with a new brand identity to be revealed in April.
The new entity will become a “Preferred Partner” of NTT, enabling seamless service delivery and client support. All Dimension Data employees in Ghana will be transitioned to Dynamic Data Solutions Ltd.
The current executive management team of Dimension Data in Ghana is projected to remain with the new company, ensuring continuity of services and overseeing the brand transition.
Atekpe, with over 25 years of experience in Ghana’s ICT sector, expressed satisfaction with the buyout, asserting that it establishes a Ghanaian-owned ICT firm and contributes to the local growth of the ICT sector.
Richard Hechle, Managing Director of Dimension Data East and West Africa, praised the move, aligning it with NTT’s commitment to supporting female-owned, locally operated businesses.
He affirmed that Dimension Data is excited to have transferred full ownership and customer care responsibilities to them, and is eager to continue collaborations as a preferred partner.
