Don’t ask me why but Apple decided to launch a new set of next-generation wireless earbuds, AirPods 2 ahead of its event on Monday where it is expected to unveil a series of new subscription services including TV streaming.
Just a couple of days ago, the tech giant launched new versions of the iPad Mini and the iPad Air.
The new AirPods 2 are powered by the new H1 Chip and feature 50 percent more Talk Time compared to the first generation AirPods. You can now also say “Hey Siri” to activate the voice assistant, instead of tapping one of the ear buds. Switching between devices while listening to music on iPhone, Apple Watch or iPad is more seamless than ever with two times faster connect times.
The new AirPods come with either the standard charging case or the new Wireless Charging Case. Each case holds additional charges for more than 24 hours of total listening time. The Wireless Charging Case is designed to offer the freedom of wireless charging with Qi-compatible charging solutions. An LED light indicator located on the front of the case conveniently shows the charge status with just a glance.
Existing AirPods customers can purchase the standalone Wireless Charging Case.
AirPods with standard charging case will be available for $159 while those with Wireless Charging Case will be available for $199 as from today on Apple.com and in Apple Stores starting next week.
The wireless charging case is also available for $79 for people with the original version of AirPods.
