Network International, a prominent facilitator of digital commerce throughout the Middle East and Africa, has expanded its collaboration with the renowned J.P. Morgan Payments to enhance ecommerce transaction capabilities for their clientele in South Africa. This expansion will be realized through the utilization of Payfast, Network International’s online payment platform in South Africa, which will empower J.P. Morgan Payments to bolster its services for local corporate customers.
Following the successful establishment of their partnership in the Middle East in 2023, this new initiative enables J.P. Morgan Payments to augment its current services to South African clients. Payfast, under the Network International umbrella, will be integrated with J.P. Morgan Payments’ existing solutions to deliver a seamless and comprehensive payment processing experience for clients in the region.
David Adams, the Southern Africa Regional Managing Director at Network International, expressed the shared goal of nurturing the digital payments landscape in South Africa. He emphasized that by granting access to Network’s cutting-edge payment solutions, regional insights, and Payfast’s ecommerce capabilities, they are equipping J.P. Morgan Payments to enhance its offerings to local clients. This expansion is expected to facilitate their operations on a larger scale. Adams also highlighted that forging ties with global frontrunners is a positive sign for the future of ecommerce and overall business expansion within the country.
Wayne Cook, the Head of J.P. Morgan Payments for South Africa, acknowledged the significance of South Africa in their strategic growth plans for Payments. He expressed enthusiasm about the investment in the South African market and the partnership with key regional entities like Payfast, which is set to provide additional value to the businesses they serve in the area.
Payfast by Network represents Network International’s online payment service. Earlier in the year, Payfast, the entity, underwent a rebranding to become Network International. This rebranding laid the foundation for strategic global partnerships aimed at introducing innovative payment solutions and promoting financial inclusion.
