On 22-25 June 2021 the Netherlands Enterprise Agency will launch the Virtual Tech Mission in participation with several South African tech organisations. The event brings together companies active in the healthtech, fintech, and smart logistics industries to discuss local issues affecting both nations and create future networking opportunities.

The Netherlands Enterprise Agency works to bring subsidising, developmental and funding opportunities to organisations across the globe.

The Netherlands Enterprise Agency supports entrepreneurs, NGOs, knowledge institutes, and organisations. We aim to facilitate entrepreneurship, improve collaborations, strengthen positions and help realise national and international ambitions with funding, networking, know-how, and compliance with laws and regulations.

It’s a government agency that operates under the auspices of the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Climate Policy. Its activities are commissioned by the various Dutch ministries and the European Union.

The event starts with a welcome and opening session on 22 June. Webinars follow on the 23-35 June where participants get the opportunity to have one on-one-sessions with fellow professionals. The application process uses B2Match, a matchmaking platform, to pair up participants. Applicants are encouraged to provide a detailed organisational profile to ensure they are matched successfully.

Other features of the event include connecting proactively with other participants through booking sessions and private, instant chat. All entrants are encouraged to prepare for the event by familiarising themselves with the platform the previous day.

Participants so far include Pieter Lolkema Diplomat at Netherlands’ Embassy to South Africa, Christiaan CF Pennekamp, CEO at Hypoport Africa Ltd and Vicki van der Westhuizen, Independent Business Consultant at State of Wonder.

There is no application fee for South African organisations and registrations are open until 25 June 2021.
