Netflix unveils another sneak peek of Squid Game season two

We’re still in the “teaser trailer” phase for the upcoming season of Squid Game, but the latest teaser for season two has revealed some intriguing details. The new trailer gives us a closer look at the games as Seong Gi-hun, portrayed by Lee Jung-jae, returns to the island.

This time, it appears he’s determined to dismantle the corrupt elite and the Front Man from within the tournament. Seong is back as a player, specifically Player 456, and it’s confirmed that at least two of the games from the previous season will make a return. These include the “Green Light” game and the dalgona cookie cutting challenge.

However, this season, the players have an advantage in Seong, an experienced contestant who can guide them on how to navigate the deadly challenges, including avoiding literal and figurative pitfalls, especially if the Mirror Bridge game returns. Seong seems to be on a personal mission to save the new batch of players, who may not fully understand the lethal stakes of the games.

Unlike last season, Seong is not smiling in his official contestant photo, indicating a more serious and determined demeanor. The trailer also shows a passionate Seong trying to persuade the new players to vote to leave the island, thereby saving their lives. The next season of Squid Game is set to premiere on Netflix the day after Christmas, but for fans, the wait feels interminable.
