Nigeria Computer Society (NCS) has expressed interest in participating in the forthcoming National Conference. This was announced by the society’s president, Prof. David Adewumi in Lagos.
He told journalists the federal government of Nigerian would add value and quality to the dialogue process if it adds its members to the list of participants.
He said: “Nigerian Information Technology professionals, through their umbrella body, Nigeria Computer Society, are very uncomfortable with their lack of representation in the composition of the National Conference.
“How can we be part of a 21st century that is building a digital economy without inputs from the Information Technology industry and profession?’’
According to him, Nigeria is not yet harnessing the growth potential of the IT sector. He then called for appropriate recognition, policies and legislation.
“The IT sector must be prioritised if Nigeria was to be a key player in the 21st century,”’ he said.
