Naspers is shutting down aggregator-based news platform Bounce News Nigeria

In line with recent trend with Naspers in the Sub-Saharan market, the e-commerce giant is shutting down aggregator-based news platform Bounce News Nigeria.

Bounce was launched without any pomp and pageantry in 2017 with an app and a website. It was branded and marketed as a personal news service – as you read, it learns what you like and recommends better stories every time.

Though no official announcement has been made, it was learnt that the employees have already been notified and are expected to be paid off soon.

No reason has been given but this is in line with Naspers practice of regularly evaluating the performance of its assets.

In January 2019, Naspers shut down Careers24 as part of its routine evaluation.
