I overheard a radio ad for Careers24 last week on a local Nigerian radio station and it struck me; Naspers is launching another property in Nigeria very soon. It is Careers24.
Careers24 is a careers portal. It is part of Media24 and benefits from being part of the Naspers Group – Africa’s largest media company. Naspers owns other properties in Nigeria like DStv, OLX, News24,
Its jobs are distributed across a network of leading sites including News24.com, MWEB and OLX.co.za. The company has invested in technologies and platforms ensuring a superior experience for both recruiters and candidates. Established in 2005, Careers24 is one of South Africa’s leading career portals. It is expected it would bring its expertise garnered over the years to compete in the Nigerian market.
It has already registered its URL – Careers24.com.ng and a Facebook page – https://www.facebook.com/Careers24Nigeria.
It is expected that this would be a formidable competitor to Jobberman and the other job sites in Nigeria.
At this time, we are not aware if a country manager for Nigeria has been hired.
