#MWC16: Introducing the Avegant Glyph, A Mobile Personal Theater

Imagine being seen wearing the cool Avegant Glyph . It reminds me of Lieutenant Commander Geordi La Forge of Star Trek series.

The Avenant Glyph is mediawear, a new category of personal entertainment technology designed with go-anywhere portability and amazingly precise video capability. The Glyph sits on your head like a pair of headphones, and when flipped down over your eyes, it becomes a personal theatre for viewing all types of content from your mobile devices. It combines a unique flip-down form factor, super sharp imagery and premium noise-cancelling audio to create a device that is a revolution in personal display technology.

It started as a Kickstarter dream and it has now evolved into a real, working product that anyone can buy. Avegant battled its way uphill to bring its brilliant new multimedia device, the Glyph, to market in the next few weeks. 3,331 backers pledged $1,509,506 on Kickstarter to help bring this project to life.

The Glyph uses a simple HDMI input to display anything in your content library, from the movies that you already own to streamed Netflix over your iPhone to the desktop environment in your Mac or PC. The Glyph is also great for gaming, whether in playing Call of Duty Ghosts on your Playstation or Real Racing on your mobile phone. And with an integrated 9 Degree of Freedom head-tracker, a whole world of interactive gaming, Point of View (PoV) imaging and interactive storytelling is within our reach.
