To empower Nigerian youths, Multichoice, the leading provider of premium pay-television on the DStv and GOtv platforms has launched its DStv Acada Scheme.

Multichoice said DStv Acada Scheme is a youth enterprise initiative aimed offering Nigerian youths opportunity to jump start their entrepreneurial abilities.

Speaking on the initiative, Managing Director, MultiChoice Nigeria, John Ugbe said the scheme is a youth empowerment programme designed to assist youth, to be economically independent.

“We recognize that the Nigerian youth are the bedrock of tomorrow. They represent the collective dreams of a stable and prosperous society where business and productivity thrive,” Ugbe said.

He explained that the DStv Acada initiative will give potential young entrepreneurs an opportunity to market MultiChoice products and generate funds for themselves, while adding that in essence, these young entrepreneurs will build on the company’s work with the youth sector to help close the generational enterprise gap.

In his comment, General Manager Marketing and Sales, MultiChoice Nigeria, Martin Mabutho noted that by the end of the calendar year Multichioce would have enabled an estimated 20 000 youth gain marketing and sales skills.

Mabutho therefore called on interested youth to “send a text message to 1027 or fill a form via our social media pages.”

MultiChoice Nigeria has been involved in several youth initiatives such as the DStv Basketball league and the MultiChoice Resource Centers; an educational center committed to the effective use of Information and Communication Technologies (ICTs) for enhancing teaching, learning and management processes in the Nigerian education system. The MultiChoice Resource Center project is currently up in 284 schools in 28 States across the country.
