Africa’s leading entertainment company, Multichoice, has just announced that the subscription video streaming service BritBox is now available as an add-to-bill option for DStv subscribers. BritBox, a joint venture between UK broadcasting powerhouses the BBC and ITV, will be available as an app on the Explora Ultra and Streama devices and as an add-to-bill option for all DStv subscribers.
Through this new partnership with MultiChoice, we will bring BritBox’s unparalleled original series to DStv subscribers across South Africa, express from the UK, as well as the largest collection of British programming all in one place.
CEO OF BritBox International Reemah Sakaan
BritBox delivers the UK’s favourite programmes, ranging from brand-new commissions to favoured classics across various genres, including critically-acclaimed drama, crime thrillers, classic comedy and powerful documentaries, alongside reality hits and entertainment.
According to Sakaan, some new hits available to DStv subscribers include, and are not limited to:
- Stonehouse, starring Emmy-winner Matthew Macfadyen;
- Death in Paradise spin-off Beyond Paradise;
- Period drama The Confessions of Frannie Langton; and
- Dark comedy The Cleaner.
With this, DStv customers can enjoy an array of content on one device and remote – including Showmax, Netflix SA, Disney+, Amazon Prime Video, YouTube and YouTube Kids – which were previously added to the Explora Ultra decoder and DStv Streama digital media player.
We’re delighted to add BritBox to the range of services our customers can enjoy on our devices, with the added benefit of paying only one bill for all their entertainment.
Marc Jury, the CEO of MultiChoice South Africa.
According to Multichoice, from 6 June 2023, DStv customers can enjoy linear broadcasting and the addition of the BritBox streaming service – costing R99.99 per month after a 7-day Free Trial.
