MTN’s very popular Family & Friends feature is now back as the network provider reintroduces MTN TruTalk, a tariff plan. Family & Friends allows a subscriber to call preselected numbers at very cheap call rates and it was a very popular feature before it was scrapped last year.

In the new Family & Friends feature, up to 11 numbers can be selected (8 0n-net numbers and 3 off-net) which can be called for just 11k/sec which is almost half of the standard 20k/sec calls made to other MTN numbers. The service which is available only to prepaid subscribers does not attract a daily or monthly subscription or access fee. Customers can migrate to the service by dialling *400#. Subscribers can register Family & Friends by dialling *560*1 * the number that the customer wants to register#.

Speaking at the re-launch event in Lagos, General Manager, Corporate Affairs, MTN Nigeria, Funmi Onajide, said with the re-launch of the MTN TruTalk service, the company is striving to meet and exceed the expectations of its subscribers, with a promise to create other innovative products in the course of the year.
