To help reduce challenges with cattle grazing and the judicious use of land across Nigeria, MTN Nigeria has provided a Livestock Tracking Solution (LTS) to assist cattle herdsmen monitor and track their livestock wherever they are. This device will also provide affordable electricity to rural community dwellers.
The MTN Mobile Electricity Device will greatly help to reduce the incidence of wandering cattle and poor electricity that has been affecting local communities. The initiative in partnership with Lumos will bring clean, modern and affordable electricity to MTN customers in rural areas.
According to Amina Oyagbola, Corporate Services Executive, MTN Nigeria during her goodwill message announced the launch of the device at the opening ceremony of the first Kastina State Economic and Investment Summit.
The summit was declared open by President Muhammadu Buhari during which he called for cooperation and partnerships between the states and investors in view of the government’s drive to grow local content and increase export opportunities in Nigeria.
Governor of Kastina State, Alhaji Aminu Masari in his remark stated that the future of any state’s development lies with technology which must be adequately utilized. He acknowledged the support of the private sector in improving the economy of the state while pledging to ensure his government supports any innovation that will continue to enhance the standard of living of the indigenes of the state amidst its economic solvency.
