    Since the disruption in USSD and some other services offered by Banks to MTN, the Telecom Giant has decided to explore other payment platforms. Punch News gave this report on April 3rd, stating that MTN subscribers can go ahead to recharge airtime via the following electronic payment platforms:

    ·         MTN On Demand is on *904# and also via https://mtnondemand.flutterwave.com;

    ·         Barter By Flutterwave (app);

    ·         Jumia Pay (app);

    ·         OPay (app);

    ·         MTN Xtratime Airtime loans (*606#);

    ·         Carbon (app);

    ·         Kuda (app);

    ·         BillsnPay (app and web);

    ·         myMTN Web

    ·         Momo agent *223#

    These Apps are available, both on Google PlayStore and the Appstore for iPhone users.

    The disagreement which led to a disconnection of over 77 million MTN subscribers from all banking channels, was as a result of the reduction in the commission offered to the commercial banks by the Telecom company.

    A further report by Punch News gave that the Minister of Communications and Digital Economy, Isa Pantami, the Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, Godwin Emefiele, and NCC, have intervened to help resolve the issue between the parties.

    MTN has agreed to revert back to the 4.5% commission (from 2.5%). This will be confirmed in a meeting which is to be held on Tuesday, 6th of April 2021 by the Telecom company and the Banks. This was disclosed by MTN Chief Executive Officer, Karl Toriola, on Saturday in a letter addressed to the Chairman of Body of Banks’ CEOs, Herbert Wigwe, Toriola.
