Motorola Releases Sequel to Samsung’s Apple-Trolling Ad

The fierce rivalry between Samsung and Apple is quite known to all. In a bid to outshine each other ad fight has recently been incorporated into the cold war.

Enlisting in this Samsung-Apple battle is Motorola. We all saw the ad where Samsung mocked Apple, boasting about all features that Samsung introduced for its users while Apple consumers remain stuck in line to buy a phone, not worth it. Motorola ad is the continuation of  that Samsung ad.

The ad begins with the protagonist, who carries the same look as the man in the Samsung ad. In the Samsung ad, the guy who converted from Apple to Samsung is seen walking away from the Apple store admiring his Samsung phone’s edge-to-edge display and enters his house with his new (presumably Samsung) device. At home he is seen watching a video on the phone when his friend enters and shows him how her Moto Z2 Play with the Insta-share projector mod is much efficient when it comes to watching videos together. She attaches Moto Mod projector so that photos and videos can be projected at the bigger canvas.

The ad has the caption “Their better just got bested. Why settle for edge-to-edge, when you could project your screen up to 70”?”

The ad ends with the protagonist mesmerized with the technology, where you can simply flip out the stand of the mod and project on any wall, and the tagline ‘Up-upgrade to Motorola’.

It is however safe to say that the ad war has begun. We all know about users who are very possessive about Apple or Samsung or now Motorola but this has now become something bigger. Brands are not using subliminal messages to target another brand, they are directly hitting their competitors and mocking them via ads.

Samsung started the troll on Apple and Motorola has taken the war forward by targeting both Apple and Samsung.

Neither Samsung nor Apple immediately responded to a request for comment.
